Protecting the special places you love…
BVLT's mission is to protect the pristine land, streams, forests, and wildlife that are cherished by residents and visitors in our region. People from all walks of life, including newcomers to our region and families who have lived here for generations, partner with BVLT to guard against pollution and overdevelopment in our area, and together we ensure that this region remains beautiful and wild for the long-term.
In addition to working with landowners, we partner with local community organizations, regional scientific research efforts, and state initiatives to help conserve our local natural resources in response to invasive species, forest blights, and the threat of climate change.

Land Conservation
People put their land into Conservation Easements for many reasons. There can be financial benefits as well as long-term peace of mind for you and your family when you conserve your land.
To learn if a Conservation Easement is a good option for you, please visit our Landowner Resources page, or email us at info@beaverkill.org.
Preserving the Valley's Heritage
We celebrate the historic and community assets of this region, and a vital part of our mission is working to preserve the local history, knowledge, and stories of the Beaverkill Valley.
We have initiated the Heritage Project, documenting the stories of Valley residents, while also restoring and revitalizing the Lew Beach Community House, a historic structure and community hub in the heart of the Beaverkill Valley.
Our Changing Climate
When you think about the Beaverkill Valley, perhaps clean water, stunning rivers and streams, beautiful scenery, and expansive woodlands critical to wildlife and outdoor recreation come to mind. While the weather is always changing, extreme weather, driven by a changing climate, is already impacting communities within the Beaverkill Valley region.
In partnership with local landowners and leading research organizations, we are helping to identify creative solutions to the threats that come with climate change.
